Our day has come. I stand here wondering how I have been so incredibly blessed to share these vows with you. To be able to look into your eyes and, with all the love I carry in my heart, say to you, “I am forever yours”.
I have always known that with any obstacle I face, you will be the hand that I hold, the person that bears the burden with me and finds the silver lining in the dark cloud. You shine light where there is dark. You bring exuberance where there is starkness. You have taken my life and shown me what it could be.
We do not complete each other, we compliment each other. To be with someone who believes they complete you would mean that you were not whole. You, my darling, do not need me to complete you; you are absolute. And you have always encouraged me and found confidence in me that I too, am all that you have searched for. But we compliment each other, we bring out the best in each other and in doing so, we share the most special kind of love. The kind that says, “ I choose you”. I choose you to hold me on my bad days and celebrate my good. I choose you to laugh and cry with, to fight and make up with. I choose you each and every day because you have shown me what it is to open up and share all that I am. And I am counting the minutes until we can walk down this aisle, hand in hand, into the adventure we have chosen together. For I am forever yours as long as you will have me.
