Hello everybody, my name’s Madison and I’m Chloe’s favorite sister. Let me start off by saying, I never thought this day would come
I asked Chloe way back before she even met James if I could do a speech at her wedding. It was met with a slight laugh until she found out that I was actually serious.
I didn’t quite know how to start out this speech, so I decided that I wanted to start off with an observation about marriage. Some people have kind of a cynical attitude when it comes to marriage. As Rodney Dangerfield once said, “My wife and I here happy for 20 years, then we met.
When I first met James back in Feb 2010, I knew that this was probably going to be it. Sitting down for dinner at Maggiano’s that night, it was easy to see that James would fit in well with our family. After dinner that night, I told Chloe of my approval and after that, it was only a matter of time before a ring would appear.
That day happened in late February of 2009 when Chloe called from Mexico saying how James had just proposed on the beach. The only thing thought that went through my head was how my dreams of delivering a speech at a wedding would be fulfilled
One thing that seems to happen quite often with newlyweds is that they need advice on how to handle things. Now, I’m not a married man myself, so maybe I’m not the best person to come to for advice on the married life, but James, If you ever need some advice, I’ll be here for you. Same goes for you too Chloe. I do however, have one quick piece of knowledge for James though: Remember: Marriage is not a word. It is a sentence… a life sentence.
In all seriousness though, this is a wonderful occasion. A celebration I know Chloe and James have been waiting for. The day has finally arrived that all of us can now officially call you two Mr. and Mrs. Kowalski.
Remember this evening, and cherish the memories that come with it, and may God bless the years of happiness ahead
