Ladies and Gentlemen, esteemed guests, and those who only came for the cake,
As Lily’s brother, I’ve had the distinct pleasure of knowing her longer than anyone else here, aside from our parents. And by ‘pleasure,’ I mean the unique challenge of growing up with someone who believed she was a Disney princess and I was her trusty steed.
My sister, Lily, has always been one of a kind. When we were kids, she convinced me that the moon followed us everywhere because it was her guardian angel. I believed her for an embarrassingly long time. She’s always had a way with words – and today, she’s used those words to convince Ethan to marry her. Bravo, sister!
Speaking of Ethan, the first time he came to our house, Lily decided to showcase her culinary skills. Let’s just say, the smoke alarm was the most vocal guest at dinner. Ethan, your ability to smile through a mouthful of charred lasagna is a testament to your love for her.
Together, Lily and Ethan are like a pair of socks lost in the laundry of life and miraculously found each other. Sure, they’re a little mismatched, but they’re perfect together. She loses her keys, he finds them. She forgets to water the plants, he… well, he buys fake ones. They’re a match made in practical heaven.
So here’s to my sister, Lily, who has found her Prince Charming in Ethan. May your life together be filled with laughter, love, and a lot less culinary experimentation, please.
To Lily and Ethan, may your marriage be as joyful and unique as this speech and may your love for each other be as unending as Lily’s childhood belief that unicorns are just shy horses.
To the bride and groom!
