Good evening, everyone. I’m Cordelia, and I’m here to celebrate my son Jasper’s marriage to the wonderful Zinnia.

Jasper, from the moment you learned to walk, you’ve been marching to the beat of your own drum. I remember when you were five, you insisted on wearing your astronaut costume to Grandma Petunia’s funeral. You said it was because space was infinite, just like Grandma’s love. Even then, you had a way of finding beauty in the strangest places.

As you grew older, your quirks only became more endearing. Like the time you decided to learn Klingon before French for your high school language requirement. Or when you trained our cat, Mr. Whiskers, to fetch the morning newspaper - although I’m still not sure if that was more impressive or concerning.

Zinnia, when Jasper first told me about you, I knew you were special. He said, “Mom, I’ve met a girl who can recite the entire periodic table while juggling flaming beakers.” I thought, “Well, that sounds dangerous… and perfect for my Jasper.”

Your first visit to our home confirmed it. You didn’t bat an eye when Jasper served his infamous “Spaghetti à la Licorice” for dinner. In fact, you asked for seconds! That’s when I knew you were either madly in love or had completely lost your taste buds. Either way, you were a keeper.

To the happy couple: May your love be as endless as Jasper’s collection of mismatched socks, and may your adventures be as wild as Zinnia’s experimental hairstyles. Here’s to a lifetime of laughter, love, and maybe investing in a good fire extinguisher - just in case those flaming beaker tricks make it into your wedding album.
