Good evening, everyone. For those who don’t know me, I’m Samantha, and I have the incredible honor of being Sarah’s big sister.
Sarah, my dear little sister, words can’t express how proud I am of you today. From the moment Mom and Dad brought you home from the hospital, all wrapped up in that little pink blanket, I knew you were going to be someone special. And boy, was I right.
Growing up, I watched you transform from a curly-haired toddler who insisted on wearing her tutu everywhere, to this beautiful, accomplished woman standing before us today. Your journey has been nothing short of inspiring.
I remember when you were just starting school, and you were so nervous about making friends. But by the end of the first week, you had the entire class planning a Save the Pandas campaign. That’s when I first saw your incredible ability to bring people together for a cause greater than yourself.
As we grew older, your determination and passion only intensified. Remember when you decided to learn French, and by the end of the summer, you were reading Victor Hugo in the original language? Or when you trained for months to run that marathon, raising thousands for charity in the process? Sarah, your drive and your heart have always been your superpowers.
But what makes me most proud isn’t just your accomplishments – impressive as they are. It’s the person you’ve become. Your kindness, your empathy, your ability to light up a room with your laugh – these are the qualities that make you truly extraordinary.
And Michael, I couldn’t be happier to welcome you to our family today. From the first time Sarah brought you home, I knew you were different. The way you looked at her – like she hung the moon and stars – told me everything I needed to know. But more than that, I’ve seen how you support her dreams, how you cheer her on in her successes, and stand by her side during challenges. You’re not just marrying my sister today; you’re becoming my brother, and I couldn’t be more thrilled.
Sarah and Michael, watching your love story unfold has been like watching a masterpiece being painted. From your first awkward coffee date (yes, Sarah told me all about how you spilled your latte all over yourself, Michael), to your romantic proposal on top of the Eiffel Tower (I’m still jealous about that one), every moment has been filled with love, laughter, and a depth of understanding that’s truly rare.
To my baby sister: Sarah, I’ve always been proud of you, but seeing you today, committing your life to the person you love, I’m bursting with pride. You’ve grown into an amazing woman, and I know that together with Michael, you’re going to build a beautiful life filled with love, adventure, and probably a lot of rescue animals knowing you two.
And to my new brother, Michael: Thank you for loving my sister so completely. Thank you for being her partner in every sense of the word. I couldn’t have chosen a better person for her if I tried.
To the happy couple: May your love continue to grow with each passing day. May you face life’s challenges hand in hand, celebrate your victories together, and always find reasons to laugh. May your home be filled with love, your hearts be full of joy, and your lives be an adventure you’re excited to wake up to every morning.
Sarah and Michael, I love you both so much. Here’s to a lifetime of happiness, love, and making each other proud every single day. Cheers to the newlyweds!
