Hello everyone! For those who don’t know me, I’m Zoe, and I’ve had the incredible privilege of being Mia’s best friend since we were in diapers. Now, I have the honor of standing here as her maid of honor. And let me tell you, it’s been quite the journey.
Mia and I have been through thick and thin together. We’ve weathered bad haircuts, worse boyfriends, and that time we thought we could cut our own bangs with safety scissors. Spoiler alert: we couldn’t. But through it all, Mia has been my rock, my sister from another mister, and the one person I can always count on to tell me when my outfit is a disaster.
I remember the day Mia met Alex like it was yesterday. We were at our favorite coffee shop, and Mia was in the middle of telling me about her latest dating disaster when she quite literally ran into Alex. And by “ran into,” I mean she spilled her entire venti caramel macchiato all over his white shirt. It was like a scene from a rom-com, except instead of being smooth and charming, Mia turned bright red and started babbling about napkins and dry cleaning bills.
But here’s the thing – Alex didn’t run away screaming. Instead, he laughed, said it was the most interesting way anyone had ever tried to pick him up, and asked Mia out for a coffee that wasn’t wearing. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Alex, I have to hand it to you. You’re the only person I’ve ever met who can match Mia’s wit, handle her Netflix binge-watching marathons, and appreciate her unique ability to burn water. Yes, folks, that’s a real thing, and Mia has mastered it. You’ve not only embraced Mia’s quirks but celebrated them, and for that, I’m eternally grateful.
Mia, my dearest friend, watching you fall in love with Alex has been like watching the final piece of a puzzle fall into place. You’ve always been an incredible person – kind, funny, and fiercely loyal. But with Alex, you’ve become even more. You’ve grown, you’ve blossomed, and you’ve finally learned that socks and sandals are not, in fact, a fashion statement.
I still laugh when I think about the time you called me in a panic because you thought you’d lost the engagement ring Alex had hidden in your apartment. You tore the place apart, only to realize you’d absent-mindedly put it on your finger while cleaning. Only you, Mia. Only you.
To the happy couple: May your love be as strong as Mia’s coffee (which, let me tell you, could wake the dead), as sweet as Alex’s patience when Mia decides to redecorate at 2 AM, and as enduring as Mia’s ability to quote every line from “Mean Girls.”
May you always find reasons to laugh together, even when life gets tough. May you continue to be each other’s biggest cheerleaders, best friends, and favorite dance partners. And Alex, a piece of advice: invest in a good fire extinguisher. Trust me on this one.
Mia and Alex, your love story is one for the books. It’s a tale of coffee spills and Netflix binges, of burnt dinners and spontaneous dance parties in the kitchen. It’s a story of two people who found each other against all odds (and despite Mia’s initial attempt to drown Alex in caffeine), and who have built a beautiful life together.
So, let’s raise our glasses to the newlyweds. To Mia and Alex – may your love continue to grow, may your adventures never end, and may you always remember that love means never having to say “I’m sorry I shrunk your favorite sweater.” Here’s to a lifetime of happiness, laughter, and maybe investing in some cooking lessons. Cheers!
