Good evening, time travelers and distinguished guests! I’m Zoe, your bride and tonight’s quantum physicist. Don’t adjust your watches – yes, it’s 2024, but we’re about to take a journey through time and space.
You see, I’ve invented a time machine. No, not a real one (I’m a bride, not Doc Brown), but a metaphorical one that will take us on a tour of the love story that brought us here today. So, please, keep your arms and legs inside the time vehicle at all times, and let’s begin our adventure!
Our first stop: The year 2015. Picture this: a clumsy physics grad student (that’s me) quite literally crashes into a handsome art major while rushing to class. Books fly, coffee spills, and amidst the chaos, two hands reach for the same quantum mechanics textbook. That’s when I looked up and saw Alex for the first time. Little did I know, the universe had just entangled our quantum states forever.
Fast forward to 2017: Our first date. Alex took me to an interactive art exhibit where we painted with light. As we stood there, creating ephemeral masterpieces in the dark, I realized that love, like light, can be both a particle and a wave – discrete moments of joy coming together to form something beautiful and continuous.
Now, let’s jump to 2020 – the year the world stood still. While everyone else was learning to bake sourdough, Alex and I were building pillow forts and having living room dance parties. It was then I understood that home isn’t a place; it’s a person. And Alex? He’s my home in every timeline, every universe.
2022: The proposal. Alex recreated our first meeting, but this time, when I reached for the book, I found a ring instead. He asked me to be his constant in an ever-changing universe. How could I say no to such a perfect application of quantum entanglement?
Which brings us to today, 2024. As I stand here, I realize that time isn’t linear – it’s a tapestry of moments, woven together by the choices we make and the love we share. And I choose you, Alex, in this moment and in all the moments to come.
Now, let’s take a leap into the future, shall we?
2034: Our 10th anniversary. Alex, I predict we’ll be celebrating on a beach somewhere, arguing over whether to build a sandcastle or a sand laboratory. (Spoiler alert: We’ll end up building a sand laboratory with turrets.)
2054: Our 30th anniversary. We’ll be that embarrassing old couple doing TikTok dances at our grandkids’ school plays. And I can’t wait.
2074: Our 50th anniversary. We’ll sit on our porch, hand in hand, watching the sunset and debating whether that distant light is a star or the first signs of the alien invasion we’ve been preparing for since 2025.
But here’s the beautiful thing about time – we don’t have to wait for these moments. We can create them, cherish them, live them right now. Because love? Love is the ultimate time machine. It connects our past, present, and future in ways that defy the laws of physics.
To our families: Thank you for being the constants in our equation of life. Your love and support have been the foundations upon which we’ve built our relationship.
To our friends: You’re the observers in our quantum love experiment. Thank you for collapsing our wave functions in all the right ways and for being here to witness this momentous occasion.
And to my Alex, my partner in time and space: You’ve proven that soulmates exist across all dimensions. You’re the Schrödinger to my cat, the Einstein to my relativity, the Curie to my radioactivity. (Too much? Never!) I promise to love you in this universe and all the parallel ones too.
As we embark on this new adventure, I vow to:
- Always be your partner in crime, science, and art.
- Support your dreams, even if they involve covering our house in murals.
- Never use my theoretical time machine to win arguments (okay, maybe just once).
- Love you infinitely, across all timelines and dimensions.
So, let’s raise our glasses in a toast. To love – the force that bends time, defies space, and makes every moment, past, present, and future, absolutely perfect when shared with the right person.
Here’s to us, Alex. May our love story be one for the ages – all of them.
To infinity and beyond! Cheers!
